William A. Kupchella

Kupchella, William A. "Fritz", 88 of Northern Cambria, died November 23, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare-Haida, Hastings. Born March 2, 1916 in Nanty Glo, son of Martin and Mary (Kozlauskas ) Kupchella. Preceded in death by parents; brothers Bernard, Martin and Charles; twin infant sisters Bernice and Catherine, and special brother-in-law Tony Litavec. Survived by wife of 62 years, former Elizabeth Litavec; children Aldona married to Robert M. Beall, Bradenton, FL; and William A. married to former Sara Boyce, of Huntingdon. Also survived by grandchildren Jennifer and husband Mark Mani, Pacifica, CA; Lydia and husband William Moriarity, Andover, Mass.; Alexis and husband Justin Taylor, Park City, Utah; Matthew Beall and wife Maria, of Bradenton; Marylynne Kupchella, Weehauken, NJ; and Adam Kupchella, of Huntingdon; and great-grandchildren Lauren and William Moriarity. Also survived by brothers Anthony, of Cleveland, OH; and John of Nanty Glo; and numerous nieces and nephews. U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Lifetime member and past commander of Barnesboro American Legion Post 508. Lifetime member of DAV. Member of former St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Name and Altar and Rosary Society. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Mr. Kupchella loved to cook and fish. Friends received from 5 - 9 p.m. Monday, November 29th and from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where Altar and Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 3:00 p.m., followed by Vigil for the deceased. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Committal at East Ridge Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by local veteran's organizations. A tree will be presented to the family in living memory of Mr. Kupchella by Long-Contres.
